Panama Govt tenders apology to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The government of Republic of
Panama has tendered its apology to Finance Minister Senator
Muhammad Ishaq Dar regarding a statement made by its Deputy
Minister of Economy, Ivan Zarak during an interview with CNN
International this week.
The Ambassador of Panama in Mexico has conveyed the
apology from the government of Panama, clarifying the
statement made by their Deputy Minister to CNN International
this week.
“The government of the Republic of Panama would like to
clarify a statement given by Panama Deputy of Economy, Ivan
Zarak during an interview with CNN International this week,”
said Ambassador of Panama.
“In his declaration, Deputy Minister Zarak by mistake
mentioned he had a conversation with the Minister for Finance
of Pakistan during the Global Connect Initiative meeting at
Washington DC, when instead it was with the Federal Finance
Secretary, Dr. Waqar Masood Khan, who represented Pakistan
Minister Mohammed Ishaq Dar at this conference,” it added
“Panama apologizes for the misunderstanding,” the
statement added.
