PARC Board approves 12 research projects for funding

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT/APP): Board of Directors of Agricultural
Linkages Programme (ALP) of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council
(PARC) has approved 12 research projects for funding.
The research and developmental projects were approved from
plant sciences, natural resources, animal sciences and agricultural
engineering.
The funds would be provided from agricultural research
endowment fund in order to promote research and developmental
activities in agriculture, livestock sectors and other related
sectors.
It may be recalled the ALP is US funded projects which aims
at promoting and supporting agricultural research and development
activities in accordance with the Pakistan’s long term development
goals.
The other objective of the programme was to promote long term
scientific cooperation between Pakistan and the United States in
agricultural sector.
The funds were approved in the 25th meeting of the board held
here with Chairman PARC Dr Yusuf Zafar in the chair which also
reviewed the progress of on going projects and accorded approval for
new projects.
After the recommendation of technical advisory committee of
board of ALP, as manay as 13 research projects were presented in the meeting for approval
Out of which 12 projects were approved by the board which
include 7 projects of plants sciences, 2 natural resources, 2 animal
sciences and one project of agricultural engineering.
The Board also granted approval for the payment of membership
fee to international research organizations.
