Parliamentarians briefed on law, order

BAHAWALPUR, May 29 (APP): The Minister and Parliamentarians belonging to the district were briefed on law and order situation and steps being taken to make foolproof security arrangements during the Holy month of Ramazan.
A meeting on law and order was held here at District Police Office to review security arrangements for people and religious spots during Ramazan.
It was attended by Provincial Minister for Cooperative Societies, Malik Iqbal Channar, Member National Assembly Sabiha Nazeer and MPAs including Mian Muhammad Kazim Pirzada, Mian Muhammad Shoaib Owaisi and Muhammad Afzal Gil and District Police Officer, Dr Muhammad Akhtar Abbas.
The DPO told the parliamentarians that foolproof security arrangements have been made for religious buildings in the district.
He said that 2,100 security personnel including police officers, cops and volunteers have been deployed for security of over 463 mosques and imambargahs in the district.
He apprised police personnel have also been deployed for security of Ramazaan Bazaars and dastarkhawns set up on the special instructions of the Punjab government. “The police will check vehicles entering the district in order to keep vigilance on suspected persons,” he added.
