ISLAMABAD, March 25 (APP): Minister for
Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator
Pervaiz Rashid Friday urged the people with democratic
mindset, to extend their support for strengthening democracy.
He said, “Democracy is destined to stay here and dictatorship
to vanish; hence democracy-loving people must stand by the
democratic forces.”
He was addressing the participants of a
reception held in honour of renowned media figure
Mushtaq Minhas, who recently joined Pakistan Muslim League-
Nawaz (PML-N) AJK-Chapter.
The reception was hosted by Chairman of Journalist
Panel, Farooq Faisal.
The Information Minister said it was unfortunate that leader
of Muslim Conference Sardar Attiq had supported the dictatorship
during the Musharraf regime and he was a part of the dictator’s
set-up.
He said that no one could even imagine that the
Muslim Conference would join hands with a dictator.
Pervaiz Rashid said Sardar Attiq had brought a no-
confidence motion in AJK Legislative Assembly against the
then elected prime minister Farooq Haider, and termed it a
conspiracy against his own party – the Muslim Conference.
He said that Mushtaq Minhas will receive love and
affection from the people in the politics like he received in
journalist community.
Mushtaq Minhas, he said, had served the journalist community
and hoped he would also work for the welfare of the people
of Bagh.
Pervaiz Rashid said despite financial crunch, Chief Minister
Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had approved funds for
development of Media Town.
He said Mushtaq Minhas was an honest, sincere and
committed person and the politics needed such a personality.
In response to Mushtaq Minhas’ comments that politics
was not a bed of roses, he said politics had different
dimensions as people did extend love and affection for their
beloved leaders.
He said Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s election as Prime Minister for the
third time was its proof.
He expressed the confidence that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
would become Prime Minister for the fourth time.
He said Mushtaq Minhas had the ability to find solution to
problems in difficult times with hardwork and dedication.
The minister assured that the government would resolve all
issues of Media Town relating to Capital Development Authority
(CDA) and other departments.
Farooq Fasial, Saud Saher, Rana Tahir, Afzal Butt paid
tribute to Mushtaq Minhas for serving the journalist community.
