ISLAMABAD, (APP): Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader
Senator Nehal Hashmi has said that the Green Line bus project will provide a comfortable and respectful transport facility to the people of Karachi.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that millions of people would
get benefit from this project.
The Senator said that the PML-N government was committed to root out
terrorism from the city and make it peaceful.
Parliamentary Secretary Interior Maryam Aurangzeb said the Prime
Minister has provided a gift to the people of Karachi by performing ground-
breaking ceremony of Green Line Bus Rapid Transit System.
She said the Metro Bus Service was facilitating around 10 million
people of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on daily basis.The Green Line Bus Rapid Transit System would be functional in one year and it would facilitate the people of Karachi just like the metro project, Maryam added.
She said that it was the incumbent government which decided to launch
a military operation to curb terrorism, extortionists and criminal elements.
Speaking in the programme, PML-N Senator Saleem Zia said the
transport facilities in Karachi are very poor but after the completion of Green Line Bus System, the people will get some relief.
He said that the government also intends to initiate clean drinking
water projects and to introduce a sewerage system in the metropolitan, he added.
Saleem Zia said the credit for a successful operation in Karachi goes
to the incumbent government.He said the people of Karachi have enjoyed peace after a long time adding that Karachi is a commercial and trade hub of the country and any disturbance in the city directly affects the national economy.
Senior economist Ali Salman also said that infrastructure development
is quite essential for the big cities and the leadership of the ruling PML-N was paying its full attention towards infrastructure development.
The present government has launched several projects including energy
generation for the welfare of the masses, he said.
He said the historic China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would
open new avenues of development and prosperity in the whole region.The government is also going to introduce Orange Line and Red line metro trains which would provide a comfortable transport facility to the masses, he added.
