Polluted water being distributed

RAWALPINDI, Dec 3 (APP):The polluted and contaminated water is being distributed in most parts of the city areas.
People belonging to various walks of life expressed dismay for distributing stinking water for the last many months.
The areas including Waris Khan, Khoti Bazaar, Jamia Masjid Road, Raja Bazaar, Amar Pura, Satellite Town, Commercial Market, College Road, Arya Mohallah, Dhoke Khaba, Umer Road, Nadeem Colony, Dhoke Elahi Bukush and some other localities are getting polluted water regularly.
A resident of Dhoke Elahi Bukush, Arshad Malik said that polluted water is being supplied. “We have to fetch clean drinking water from far flung areas” he added.
A household woman, Asma from Nadeem Colony expressed her deep concern that the water is not even useable for washing purposes.
Another complainant, Naeem Qurashi from Umer Road said that due muddy and polluted water they had to purchase mineral water, which is very costly and unaffordable.
It is pertinent to mention that some localities are facing acute shortage of water including Fazal Town Airport, Shah Khalid Colony and Adiala Road but their grievances are not resolved despite the weather turned chilly.
On the other hand, Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has claimed that millions of rupees are being spent for the provision of clean drinking water and old pipelines is being replaced with the new ones to address the public issue.
