Protest against plot to set up soldier colonies in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (APP): In Indian Held Kashmir, the independent member
of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed led a forceful protest
demonstration in Baramulla against the Indian plan to establish colonies for
Indian soldiers in the territory.
Engineer Rasheed while leading hundreds of protesters in Baramulla told
media men that the establishment of colonies for Indian soldiers would not be allowed in the territory. He said that the soldier colonies would be established on the bodies of the Kashmiris,Kashmir Media Service reported.
“We wouldn’t allow any such move,” said Rashid.
The Puppet Chief Minister of Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti has admitted that
former soldiers were demanding the establishment of residential colonies.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League General Secretary,
Muhammad Ramazan Khan, in his statement termed plans like establishment of soldier colonies and satellite towns for Pandits as a conspiracy to change the demographic composition of Jammu and Kashmir.
