Qaim grieved over Edhi’s death, announces 3-day mourning

KARACHI July 8 (APP): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah
expressing his profound grief on the sad demise of eminent social worker
and philanthoropist, Abdul Sattar Edhi, has announced three-day mourning
across the province.
He said that Abdul Sattar Edhi was a great personality who served
the humanity irrespective of caste, creed, religion or sectarian discrimination. People like him are born in centuries.
It was the greatness of late Sattar Edhi that he served humanity
right from the early days of his life till death. His services for
unwanted infants, orphans; shelter-less people, abandoned
parents/elderly people, transporting ailing and injured to hospitals
and preserving bodies in the trust morgues and their burial were the manifestation of an exemplary personality and character.
“May Allah rest him in eternal peace and grant courage to his family members and all those who respect and love humanity, to bear this irreparable loss,” Qaim prayed.
The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Siddique Memon to
coordinate with Sattar Edhi’s son and facilitate him whatever he needs
for the burial of his father.
He directed Rangers and police to provide foolproof security for his Namaz-e-Janaza.
During the three-day mourning, there would be Quran khwani in
government offices all over Sindh.
