LAHORE,(APP): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s speech to workers
convention of ‘PTI Nazryati Group (Shafqat Mahmood Group)’
in Lahore highlighted serious differences among top leaders of
the party.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi has criticised in harsh words
Ch. Muhammad Sarwar who is contesting for PTI Punjab
slot.
Addressing the workers,Shah Mahmood recently said Ch. Sarwar and
Jahangir Tareen were inexperienced in politics and alleged
they were trying to hijack the party with the power of money.
This is not the first time that such differences have
surfaced as earlier Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman,Imran Khan
had suspended Justice (R) Wajihuddin Ahmed who was Chief Election Commissioner for Intra-party election,while new CEC Tasneem Norani
also resigned from his position over differences with the party chief.
There are two main groups in PTI–Shafqat Mahmood’s Nazriyati
Group which has the support of Shireen Mazari, Saifullah Khan
Nyazi,Hamid Khan, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Waleed Iqbal, Munazza
Hassan,Rai Azizullah and Andleeb Abbas,while the second group
is of Ch Sarwar who is being backed by Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan.
Admitting the differences between the two groups, Advisor
to Imran Khan Dr Yasmin Rashid while talking to APP claimed that criticism is the beauty of democracy,and PTI is the only party in the country
which has real democracy as its going to conduct its intra-party
election transparently.
She claimed that all the differences,even on intra-party
elections,have been wiped after the meeting of top
leadership with Imran Khan on Monday.
All the decisions were being made after consultations
with all the leaders, she stressed.
