Residents demand making traffic signal operational

RAWALPINDI, Oct 17 APP: The residents of Askari 7, 14 and various other colony’s have demanded of the Traffic Police to make the traffic signal operational at Khawaja Corporation Chowk on Adiala road as during the morning and afternoon peak hours the traffic remains suspended for hours as motorists try to cross the chowk. Col (retd) Chisti an area resident said going to the bazar has become a major issue as one comes out of the colony’s gate the road is blocked or moves at snails pace. Another resident Iqbal Hussain said one wonders why the traffic signal installed years back is not made operational to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the over loaded road. Raja Sarfaraz a commuter said it is rarely when a Warden is present on the road to make the traffic move with some semblance. Muhammad Qamar Ullah a resiident of Gulshan Abad said one usually gets stuck-up at Dhamma Moor and at Corporation chowk as being intersections there is huge movement of vehicles.
