ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT/APP):Restoration of International Sports
would boost sports tourism in the country and attract tourists from
different parts of the world.
Talking to APP, Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development
Corporation (PTDC) Ch. Abdul Ghafoor said that there is a lot
opportunities of sport tourism in Pakistan.
He said that mostly people travel for sports, recreation,
cultural and heritage, religious, adventure or business purposes in
the world.
Ch. Abdul Ghafoor said that Pakistan is best for different
sports which are not available in many countries of the world.
He said that there are several regional sporting events held
every year in different parts of the country, adding that these
sporting events are center of attraction for the tourists from
different parts of the world and provide them maximum level of joy
and happiness.
He expressed the hope that events like Pakistan Super League
(PSL) would strengthen tourism industry.
Managing Director said that Pakistan is known as a paradise
for the golfers and there are around 45 golf clubs of world standard
in the country.
He said that Pakistan has been blessed with natural beauty,
rich and thousands of year’s old cultures and amazing human talent
in every aspect of life.
“From the mountain ranges of Karakoram and Himalayas in
tourism, to total dominance in sports like Cricket, Hockey and
Squash are just a few hallmarks for Pakistan from its long list of
amazing and unique traits,” he said.
He said that PTDC has initiated a series of projects to help
restore and promote tourism nationally and internationally.
