SBP Deputy Governor refutes Imran’s allegations

KARACHI, Apr 10 (APP): The Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan
(SBP), Saeed Ahmed, has rejected PTI chairman Imran Khan’s allegations and categorically denied his involvement in any money laundering activities.
In a statement here on Sunday, he said, “While listening to Mr. Imran
Khan, I heard his accusation that I was appointed as Deputy Governor of State Bank as a result of facilitating use of my account for so called money laundering activities.”
Saeed Ahmed said he categorically denies involvement in any money
laundering activities for anyone. “I challenge anyone to produce any such account. I shall offer myself for any investigation.”
“I am a professional and take my position and standing very seriously.
For me it’s a sacrifice to come and work in Pakistan. It’s not a reward. To make me controversial figure does only serve as a discouragement for any professional to come and work for Pakistan.
“I wish the reality was confirmed from me before saying all these things
about me. Anyone making a malicious accusation must realise that he or she will one day be accountable to Allah.”
