Senate body condemns Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (MILLAT+APP): Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Wednesday strongly condemned the Indian forces atrocities in occupied Kashmir and passed a resolution unanimously in this regard.
Members of the committee including senators Raja Zafar ul Haq, Haji Momin Khan Afridi, Sirajul Haq, Najma Hameed and Ahmed Hassan attended the meeting.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir also present on the occasion.
Senator Raja Zafar ul Haq proposed the resolution for condemning Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
Earlier, senior officials of ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan briefed the committee about the distribution of Zakat and Usher in Azad Jamu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, its monitoring and auditing.
The officials informed that the amount of Zakat and Usher had been increased for Gilgit-Baltistan by the present government.
They said Zakat council was responsible for policy guidelines and general superintendence, control on matters, maintenance of Zakat fund accounts, preparation of the list of institutions for assistance from Azad Kashmir Zakat Fund.
The officials said chief administrator Zakat and Usher, being financial commissioner monitor, allocated budget through central audit and account cell.
They informed that local Zakat committee prepared the list of mustahqeen (deserving people) Zakat and disbursement of Zakat to beneficiaries in their personal accounts.
