Shehbaz inaugurates Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies

LAHORE, July 3 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad
Shehbaz Sharif here on Sunday inaugurated Punjab Institute
of Quran and Seerat Studies.
The Chief Minister congratulated the nation on
inauguration of this institution during the holy month of
Ramadan and said, “The aim of setting up of Institute of
Quran and Seerat Studies is to conduct research on the
Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).”
He said this intuition had been set up for a great cause
and expressed the hope that this would become a great
institution in the Islamic world.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Ulema and Mushaikh would carry
out research and write papers.
He said that Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies would
be unprecedented and would create name in the entire world.
The Chief Minister said, “The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad
(PBUH) proved through his act that Islam is the religion of peace
and love.”
Shehbaz Sharif said that the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad
(PBUH) stressed upon the need of education. Population of
Muslims was 1.5 billion but they had only won two Nobel
prizes, the Chief Minister added.
“Teachings of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet Hazrat
Muhammad (PBUH) provide every kind of guidance and we should
implement Seerat un Nabi (PBUH),” he added.
He said that specific mind set would have to be changed
for moving Pakistan forward.
He said the objective of creation of Pakistan was that
the Muslims should be united. He said that even today, the
true Ulema talk of unity, accommodation and tolerance.
The Chief Minister said, “Pakistan was created to lead
the Islamic world but we have become slaves and this is due to
forgetting the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).”
He said that education, love, unity, hope, tolerance and
accommodation would be promoted at Punjab Institute of Quran
and Seerat Studies and this institution would become a great
institute with regard to science, research and uniqueness.
He said that Ulema of all schools of thoughts had been
included in this institution due to which love would be
promoted throughout the world.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf Ata Manika and Justice
(retd) Khalil ur Rehman also spoke on the occasion.
Chairman Punjab Quran Board Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi,
Maulana Amjad Khan, Dr. Raghib Naeemi, Allama Zubair Zaheer,
Maulana Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, Khateeb
Badshahi Mosque Dr. Abdul Khabeer, Ulema from all schools of
thought, Chief Secretary, Secretary Auqaf and senior officials
were present on the occasion.
