Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (MILLAT/APP): Brisk shipping was observed at the Port
where eight ships M.V Safmarine Nyassa, MSC Rita, Xpress Kailash, YM Miranda, Bochem Antwerp, Ocean Quartz, Chance and Ardmore Sealion
scheduled to load/offload containers, chemical, slag, soybean seeds and diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container
Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FAP and FOTCO Terminals respectively on Sunday.
Meanwhile six more ships, Harmony-1, CS Zephyr, Mid Fortune,
Bneider, Spectrum-5 and Gaslog Glasgo carrying Furnace oil, Chemical,
Diesel oil, River Sand and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port
Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.
High side berth occupancy was recorded at the port at 75% on
Sunday. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood 66,973 tonnes,
comprising 46,263 tonnes import cargo and 20,710 tonnes export cargo
inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,164 containers (TEUs)
1074 imports TUEs, and 1090 TUEs exports) handled during last 24 hours.
Two Containers ships MV Safmarine Nyassa, Xpress Kailash and one
Diesel oil ship Ardmore Sealion sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
Five ships, Gaslog Glasgo, Glorious, Al Gharo, Al Manama and
Spectrum 5, carrying LNG, Diesel oil, Containers and Rive Sand are
expected to take berths at EETL Terminal, FOTCO Terminal, Container
Terminals and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Monday.
