Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (MILLAT ONLINE):Three ships, Global Carnet, Epoic Sicily
and Jag Leela carrying Steel Coil, LPG and Furnace oil took berths at
Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal
respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim
Authority (PQA) here on Monday.
Meanwhile three more ships, MSC Rachele, MSC Pamela and King
Craft with Containers and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port
Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at 53% at the port on Sunday where a
total of nine ships namely, APL Japan, Cape Mayor, Chang AN, Global
Garnet, Kiran Marmara, QI-Xiang-22, Kristinita, Epic Sicily and Jag
Leela were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Animal
Feed, Steel Coil, Coal, Soya Bean Seeds, LPG and Furnace oil respectively.
Cargo handling remained during last 24 hours at 143,456 tonnes,
comprising 103,271 tonnes import cargo and 40,185 tonnes export cargo
inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,242 containers (TEUs),
(1,127 TEUs imports and 2,115 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Two ships, Container Vessel APL Japan and Bulk Cargo carrier
Kristinita sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
Three Container ships, MSC Pamela, MSC Rachele and Newark are
expected to take berths at QICT berth # 5,7 & 9 respectively on Monday,
while M.T Ashada is due to arrive at PQ on same day, and two more
Container Vessels MSC Busan and Maersk Detroit are due to arrive
on Tuesday.
