Shutdown continues in IOK on 53rd consecutive day today

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Complete shutdown marked by
clashes, forceful anti-India and pro-freedom protests and rallies,
is being observed across the Kashmir Valley on the 53rd
consecutive day.
The shutdown is being observed on the appeal of joint
Hurriyet leadership that has extended the protest calendar till
September 1 asking people to continue protests against Indian
occupation of Jammu and Kashmir,reported Kashmir Media Service (KMS).
All business establishments, educational institutions are
closed, while traffic is off the road in the Valley including
Srinagar on the 53rd consecutive day, today.
Despite restrictions, people came out of their houses and
held anti-India protest demonstrations across the occupied
territory. Clashes broke out between protesters and police in
Bandipora town early today morning. Residents of Ajas and Saidnura
areas also took to the streets against the highhandedness of
Indian armed forces.
People in large number held a peaceful demonstration in
Hathlangoo area of Sopore in Baramulla district. The protesters
including women and elderly strongly denounced the Indian
atrocities in the occupied territory.
As many as 86 people have been killed and over 11,000
injured in the ongoing uprising erupted on July 9, a day after
Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, was killed by
Indian forces in Kokernag area of Islamabad district.
