Shutdown to be observed in IOK on Modi’s visit tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP): Complete shutdown, in occupied
Kashmir, will be observed on Sunday against the Indian Prime
Minister, Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to the territory.
According to Kashmir Medi Service, call for the shutdown has
been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali
Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
The resistance leaders in a joint statement issued in
Srinagar said that Indian Prime Minister was visiting at a time,
when situation was extremely gloomy and massacres, detentions and
blinding of people continued and there seemed no let up. Thousands
are languishing in jails and the authorities are denying any space
for peaceful political activities, they said.
The leaders maintained that the Kashmir issue was neither
about governance, economic packages or incentives, nor was it a
law and order problem, but an issue pertaining to the right to
self-determination of millions of Kashmiris.
It is to mention here that Narendra Modi is scheduled to
visit the occupied territory to inaugurate Chenani-Nashri tunnel
in Jammu region.
Meanwhile, a multi-tier security set-up has been put in
place in occupied Kashmir ahead of Narendra Modi’s visit. The
security setup includes elaborate deployment of Indian troops,
setting up of checkpoints and vigilance on vital installations
like airports, railway stations and highways by various Indian
secret agencies.
