HYDERABAD, Oct,15(APP): The spread of the infections can be reduced by washing hands with soap and this is most effective and inexpensive way to prevent diarrhea and acute respiratory infections. This was stated by an eminent Pediatrician and chairperson of Pediatric department of Liaquat University of Medical and Health sciences (LUMHS) Hospital while talking to APP on “Global Hand Washing Day”. Like other parts of the country “Global Hand Washing Day” was observed on Saturday, with an aim to raise awareness and promote hand washing behavior among people especially children. October 15th marks the annual Global Hand Washing Day, aimed at increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of hand washing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases. Dr. Salma Shaikh informed that diarrhea and acute respiratory infections are most common diseases and these infections are responsible for majority of child deaths in the world.
