UET Peshawar hold a daylong seminar on Right to Information

PESHAWAR, Oct 15 (APP): A one-day seminar on Right to Information (RTI) organized by Engineering and Technology, Peshawar with the collaboration of US Pakistan Center of Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E), here to create awareness on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa RTI Act 2013. Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain while speaking on the occasion as chief guest appreciated the RTI Commission KP for taking interest and briefing the senior administration on RTI’s role. He urged the University administration to hold regular sessions with UET students and faculty to bring awareness on the Right to Information. He urged the audience to get full understanding of the RTI Act so that transparency is ensured in public institutions. He further added, it is mainly due to the lack of clearly outlined procedures and laws within public departments which create hurdles in sharing information with public. The Commission is holding seminars and advocacy sessions with public information officers who are appointed across government departments in KP to handle requests,” Prof Kalim concluded. Dean Faculty of Engineering UET Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad, Director USPCAS-E Dr. Najeeb Ullah, Abbas Khan Director Coordination USPCAS E UET Peshawar and senior faculty members and administration staff were also present on the occasion.
