Use of force on funeral of youth in Srinagar denounced

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): The forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has
condemned the use of brute force on the funeral procession of a youth by Indian forces’ personnel in Srinagar on Tuesday.
According to KMS, the youth, Rizwan Ahmad, a resident of Noorbagh area
of Srinagar, was critically injured after an Indian Army vehicle deliberately hit him on November 2. He was admitted at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that there
was no let up in killing and torturing Kashmiris. “Every day people in different areas of the Kashmir Valley are beaten up, raids and arrests carried out, homes and properties damaged and then shameless denials are made by authorities,” he said.
The spokesman said that while more than 100 precious lives had been
lost to Indian state terrorism during the past few months, hundreds of people had lost their eyesight and thousands their limbs, besides a sea of pain and suffering inflicted upon the masses in various ways as collective punishment, the shameless collaborators had the audacity to preach instead of hanging their heads in shame and remorse.
“Such is their contempt for people’s suffering and sacrifices and so
disaffected and disconnected are they from people that one among them makes the most preposterous statement about the thousands of Kashmiris languishing in jails by saying that inmates are enjoying life so much that he would like the authorities to put him there for some days so that he can equally enjoy,” he said.
The forum spokesman maintained that the Kashmiris’ struggle was not
for getting small booties and concessions from their oppressor in lieu of accepting their control but was aimed at securing their inalienable right to self-determination. “For the past 70 years, the struggle is on, manifesting itself in various forms and expressions but continuously nourished and kept alive with sacrifices and resilience of people. Our Goal is lofty but toilsome and each phase of the struggle takes us nearer to it,” he added.
