ISLAMABAD, (APP): Verification of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) to rule out the chances of bogus and fake cards would require a comprehensive strategy to ensure better system
of security on national level, Former interior secretary Tasleem Noorani has said here in an interview.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that
verification of CNICs within six months would not be an easy task due to limited outreach of the National Database and Registering Authority (NADRA) in the country. It would require lot more outlets to complete the task, he added.
Earlier, he said, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar had announced that NADRA would carry out verifications of all CNICs and had confirmed few months back that over 0.23 million suspicious CNICs had been blocked by NADRA in the past five years. Most of these cards had been issued to Afghanis, he added.
