the finals of the men’s team events of the 53rd National Table
Tennis Championship played here at Liaquat Gymnasium of the Pakistan
Sports Complex.
In the first semi final, Wapda beat Sindh 3-0: Asim Qureshi
beat Aahil Shah (3-1) 8-11, 11-9, 12-10, 12-10; Rameez beat Hussain
Virani (3-0) 11-7, 11-8, 11-9 and Bilal Yasin beat Farhan Hashim (3-
0) 11-3, 11-7, 11-5.
In the second semi final, Pakistan Army beat National Highway
Authority 3-0: Fahad beat Shah Khan (3-1) 11-4, 10-12, 11-9,
14-12; Faizan beat Arbaz Anwar (3-0) 11-4, 11-7, 11-9 and Ubaid beat
Basit Ali (3-1) 13-11, 12-10, 5-11, 12-10.
In the women’s singles pre quarter finals, Mehmooda Zahid
(Wapda) beat Maliha Khurshid (Wapda) (3-1) 13-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7;
Ghazala Basit (Wapda) beat Sana Muzaffar (Wapda) (3-0) 11-8, 11-8,
11-2; Nosheedn Waseem (RLY) beat Sobia Faryal (Wapda) (3-0) 11-4,
11-1, 11-9; Qurat Mujtaba (Wapda) beat Anam Rasheed (ISD) (3-0) 11-
