Women role in country’s history remarkable: Dr Nadia Aziz

SARGODHA, (APP): MPA Dr Nadia Aziz said that the role of Pakistani
women was remarkable in promoting democracy and to fight
for the rights of women.
Addressing a seminar held on the occasion of International Women
Day at Jinnah Bagh here Tuesday She said that in the political history
of Pakistan the role of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, Begum Waqar un Nisa Noon and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was exemplary.
MPA said that for the recognition of the struggle of working women
the Punjab government had ensured the rights of women by approving the
Women Harassment Bill in the assembly.
She said that under the light of the resolution of UNO
the Women’s International Day was being observed to assign equal right
to the both male and female gender.
She further said that for empowering the women the Punjab government had
approved law in 2014 adding that under the law the women quota in government’s jobs was increased by 15 percent while the representation
in the local bodies was also increased up to 33 percent.
Principal Girls College Chandni Chowak Dr. Kousar Raees, Dr, Saira,
Madam Sughra Imam, Ambreen Kousar, Dr. Zakia Ranjha, Madam Ayesha Siddiqa and others addressed the Seminar.
