World criticized for silence over HR abuses in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Pro-freedom leaders and organizations have
criticized international community and human rights organizations for
maintaining silence over right abuses in Indian occupied Kashmir.
The leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Jammu and Kashmir
Liberation Front-R (JKLF-R) and Voice of Victims (VoV) in their separate
statements have condemned the killing of five civilians including a woman and teenager in firing by Indian troops in Kupwara, KMS reported.
Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, who is under house detention, in a statement issued
in Srinagar termed the killing of civilians as barbarism by the Indian troops and slammed the international community for being a mute spectator to the situation.
He added that despite repeated pleas from Kashmiris, the international
community particularly the United Nations had totally failed to provide
justice to the Kashmiris.
Javaid Ahmad Mir in his statement in Srinagar, denouncing the Kupwara
killings, urged the world community to take note of the reign of terror let
loose by Indian government and its forces in Kashmir.
He criticized the world human rights organizations for their criminal
silence for last seven decades.
The JKLF-R in its statement issued in Srinagar condemned the firing on
peaceful protesters at Nathnusa in Handwara and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. It said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and the movement would be taken to its logical
conclusion at all costs.
The Executive Director of VoV, a local human rights forum, Abdul Qadeer
in a statement in Srinagar condemned killing of civilians in Kupwara.
Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo,
Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Gulam Nabi War in a joint statement while condemning the killings called upon international community, particularly the United States to play its role for settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
