Data Gunj Bakhsh Urs ends Friday

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):A three-day celebration of 974th annual Urs of Hazrat Ali bin Usman Hajveri, known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, concluded on Friday (Today) in the presence of thousands of devotees.
According to Private news channel , as per tradition, milk sellers’ community brought thousands of liters of milk as a donation for the milk Sabeel distribution among the devotees and visitors during the Urs.
A separate section was established in front of Data Sahab on the main road where a steel made makeshift section was constructed for the milk Sabeel.
Millions of devotees and visitors from all parts of the country came to witness the Urs and offer special prayers. A large number of youth and devotees gathered around the shrine, after traveling all the way from different cities of Punjab.
Drum beating and donation-collection remained the major activities on the outer premises
of Data Sahab.
Besides, a large number of philanthropists provide them with food as part of worship.
The district administration took all necessary measures to maintain peace and security during the Urs. A special committee, formed by the senior officials of the Auqaf, was supervising all the preparations and management of different functions and ceremonies during the Urs.
During the Urs ceremonies, various seminars of preachers, spiritual gatherings, Qirat and Na’at competitions, debate contests, seminars on Tasawwuf and spiritualism, lectures of religious scholars were held.
Besides, a large number of Ulema, Mashaikh, spiritual leaders and Gaddi Nasheens from all over the country also participated in the preaching congregations and meetings.
According to the Auqaf Department’s spokesman, Ulema, Mashaikh, religious scholars and custodians of popular shrines from all over the country and abroad participated in the Urs ceremonies to conduct various spiritual sittings where thousands of devotees attended to gain the spiritual satisfaction. The Auqaf Department has made elaborate arrangements of “Langar” for the devotees.
Dozens of food stalls of traditional foods, toys stalls, head bands and badges stalls were also established for the devotees.
