Smog to wither in coming week due to anticipated rainfall: Met Office

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):MET office has said that somg is likely to wither in the upcoming week due to rain forecast in different regions of the country.
According to the Pakistan Meterological Department, rainfall is expected in some regions of Balochistan on Sunday and the following Monday, a private news channel reported.
Whereas, Sindh will witness rainfall with thunder in some regions.
The department further stated that rain is also expected in KPK, FATA and Islamabad from Monday to Wednesday.
On the other hand, rain has been forcast in regions including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.
Dense fog continues to envelope Punjab including Lahore reducing visibility to zero and affecting the flow of traffic.
Flight operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport and other cities remained close throughout the night while passengers at railway station were forced to wait for long hours as trains arrived late due to heavy fog.
Various sections of the Motorway were also closed for traffic. According to Motorway police, M-I from Peshawar to Swabi, M-2 from Lillah to Lahore and M-3 from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad, Gojra remain closed due to dense fog whereas similar situation occurred at National Highway.
Meanwhile, the road users have been advised to contact Helpline 130 to avoid any inconvenience. Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas also remained under foggy environment.
In the next 24 hours, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Dense foggy/smoggy conditions are expected in plain areas of Punjab and foggy over D.I khan, Peshawar and Sukkur divisions during night and morning hours.
