Concern raised about health of leaders lodged in Tihar Jail
ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) in Indian occupied Kashmir, has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of illegally detained ailing Hurriyat leader, Peer Saifullah, in Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail.
According to Kashmir Media Service, an APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Peer Saifullah has been suffering from brain tumor diagnosed by doctors in Apollo Hospitals Delhi. He said that although Peer Saifullah was operated but had also been advised for follow up by his doctors. “It was a routine for him to visit hospital for check-ups, however, he was arrested and lodged in Tihar jail,” he added.
The spokesman said that it was moral responsibility of the Indian authorities to provide specific treatment to Peer Saifullah from his consultants. He appealed to the international human rights organizations and all kind-hearted people in India to fulfill their moral obligation and urge the Indian government to provide medical aid to Peer Saifullah and other Kashmiri detainees lodged in different jails of India.
Meanwhile, the Hizbul Mujahideen Chief, Syed Salahuddin, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the lives of illegally detained Kashmiri leaders including Shabbir Ahmed Shah were being put at risk and the world community and international human rights bodies must take immediate notice of it.
He said that the doctors at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi had also warned that Shabbir Shah was not healthy and he needed immediate surgery.
“Under a well-planned conspiracy, he was shifted to Tihar Jail where he and other Kashmiri political prisoners including Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Merajuddin, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar and Nayeem Ahmed Khan are at high risk,” he added.
