AJK government to revive ancient forts
MIRPUR, (MILLAT ONLINE):Azad Jammu and Kashmir government in order to promote tourism and preserve historic and heritage sites has decided to develop and refurbish the ancient forts located in different areas of the state.
Talking to APP, official sources said here Monday that in order to promote and encourage maximum tourists
from within and outside Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said various locations at the fort suitable for installation of chair lifts and tourist huts at the centuries-old fort are being reviewed by the authorities concerned including the Tourism Department.
According to details the condition of the ancient forts in the division including the ancient Baghser Fort in Bhimber
district and Ramkot Fort located near Mangla Dam to attract maximum local and foreign tourists, official sources said.
AJK government has also chalked out a comprehensive plan to promote indoor games under the programme to promote sports activities for encouraging good human health, the source said.
