Detention of Hurriyat leaders denounced
ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,in Indian occupied Kashmir, has strongly condemned the continued house arrest of the Mirwaiz and described his detention as the frustration of the authorities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Hurriyat forum at a meeting held in Srinagar said, the Mirwaiz has been prevented from his social, political and religious activities which is the worst kind of human rights violation.
The APHC leaders, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, in a joint statement strongly condemned the detention of Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Bilal Siddiqi, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Muhammad Yasin Attai, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Ashraf Laya, Bashir Ahmed Kashmiri, Ramiz Raja, Mushtaq Ahmad Ajmal, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Farooq Ahmad Sodagar and Ghulam Muhammad Dar.
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) in a statement denounced the continued detention of its Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt. It said that the authorities had slapped Public Safety Act (PSA) 36th time on him which was unjust and inhuman. The court, while quashing the 35th PSA order against Masarrat Aalam on October 26, had directed the authorities to release him immediately but he was re-arrested in connection in a frivolous case registered against him in Handwara in 2015.
The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in a statement in Srinagar denounced the continued detention on party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and use of brute force on people in Kashmir. It urged the world human rights organizations to take notice of Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and play their role in the release political detainees languishing in different jails of India and the territory.
Tehreek-e-Muzahamat in a statement said that party Chairman, Bilal Siddiqi had been shifted from Rajbagh police station to Central Jail in Srinagar. He was arrested on Tuesday by police from his residence in Rajbagh. Tehreek-e-Muzahamat termed his arrest an act of political vendetta.
The illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, in a statement expressed deep concern over the detention of 18 youth in Srinagar. He said that the youth had been kept in custody without trial as part of the strategy of Indian authorities to prolong the detention of Kashmiri youth.
