Tokyo shares up slightly by break

TOKYO, March 24 (APP/AFP): Tokyo shares traded slightly higher on
Thursday morning as commodity and energy-linked stocks were hammered on lower oil prices while the weaker yen brought exporters some relief.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange ticked up
0.13 percent, or 22.22 points, to 17,023.20 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares was flat, easing 0.14 points to 1,364.06.
