Kashmir root cause of tension in South Asia: Gilani

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani in Indian occupied Kashmir, expressing serious concern over the prevailing horrendous situation said that the unresolved Kashmir issue is the root cause of tension in South Asia.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “New Delhi’s stubborn and haughty approach has made the situation even worse. The unabated state-sponsored violence, arrests, intimidation and killings will further deteriorate the situation in Kashmir”.
Stressing resolution of Kashmir dispute in its historical perspective, Gilani said, “Instead of employing undemocratic means and methods, India should consider Kashmir’s conflicting status and work for its durable solution. This alone can save south Asia from horrors and devastation created by dreadful wars.”
Meanwhile, the APHC Chairman paid glowing tributes to the youth martyred by Indian troops in Karnabal and Sambora, saying that the civilians were facing extreme situation during and after the cordon and search operations by Indian forces. “They are subjected to arbitrary measures and disproportionate military might,” he added.
Gilani welcomed the release of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi and Sofi Fehmeda and hailed the role of Aasiya Andrabi, saying, “She is a living example that no torture, no hanging or detention can dampen our sentiments.”
He demanded the release of all prisoners languishing in jails of India and the occupied territory.
On the other hand, an APHC delegation led by Bashir Ahmad Qureshi, Rameez Raja Mukhtar Ahmad and Jasif Ahmad visited Tral and paid tributes to martyr, Noorud Din Tantray. The deputation extended their condolences with the bereaved family.
