NADRA starts issuing ID cards on emergency basis

MUZAFFARABAD, (APP): The preparation for upcoming general
elections in Azad Kashmir is in full-swing and the National Registration and Database Authority (NADRA), has sent 13 mobile vans to different rural areas to issue Identity cards to new voters on emergency basis.
According to a spokesperson of CEC office, all the teams will work
under the supervision of Deputy Commissioners who had been appointed focal persons for the purpose. He said the teams will visit village to village for issuing ID cards to eligible voters.
The process for preparing electoral rolls had been started from March 5
and will be completed till March 29 in Azad Kashmir while by April 4 on Refugee constituencies in Pakistan.
He added that final list would be released by April 15 in all the
constituencies after decisions of objections by revising authorities and verification by Nadra.
The CEC is expected to announce election schedule in the first week of
next month and polling is expected in the first week of June before the Ramadan as the commencement of elections are mandatory before the 24th of July.
The political parties had already sought nominations by their candidates
and they will finalize the candidates in different constituencies before the date for filling of nomination papers. However, he said all parties had constituted their parliamentary boards to decide the tickets.
