NAB chairman reviews headquarters, regional bureaus performance

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal Monday reviewed performance of the NAB headquarters and all regional bureaus, especially implementation on the orders he passed after assuming charge of the office.
He chaired the meeting here at the NAB headquarters in which the prosecution, operation, awareness and prevention divisions presented detailed briefing on their three-month performance, a press release said.
The chairman said there were around 173 decisions of the Supreme Court with regard to the NAB and directed the officers concerned to go through the verdicts and the NAB laws, as no investigation should be out of the NAB laws parameters.
He said currently, the country was under debt of around more than $84 billion, while on the other side cellular companies, operating in the country, were allegedly not paying approximately Rs400 billion tax to the Federal Bureau of Revenue annually.
“Now in the NAB, there will be work, work and only work in accordance with the law,” he said.
Expressing satisfaction over performance of the last three months, the chairman said the whole nation was looking towards ‘change’ in the NAB’s work and directed the officers “We have to eliminate corruption from the country in collaboration with the nation.”
He warned that no negligence of the NAB officers would be tolerated in this regard.
