Shopian, Pulwama shut to mourn killings of youth

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):Complete shutdown,in Indian occupied Kashmir, is being observed in twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama to mourn the killings of three youth at the hands of Indian forces at Chaigund in Shopian district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, all shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road in the two districts.
There are reports of massive protests in Shopian against the killings of the youth — Sameer Ahmad Wani and Firdous Ahmad and the teenager Shakir Ahmad Mir. Shakir, who belonged to Pulwama district, was martyred after a bullet him during protests against the Indian army operation in the area, last night.
Sameer and Firdous were martyred by the troops during a siege and search operation at Chaigund in Shopian district. However, Indian army claimed that they were mujahideen and were killed during an encounter with the troops.
Indian army and police have erected barricades and established checkpoints at several places in and around Ganowpora and Chaigund areas of Shopian district to stop people from participating in the funeral prayers of the martyrs.
Meanwhile, train service has been suspended in view of protests in south Kashmir. “We have suspended all train runs in south Kashmir for security reasons today,’ a senior railway official told media.
