NDMA directs PDMAs for necessary measurers to avoid losses

ISLAMABAD, (APP):National Disaster Management
Authority (NDMA) on Thursday directed the concerned to take
necessary measures to avoid losses of lives and damages to
property infrastructure during the upcoming rain spell.
“All rescue and relief agencies, departments are required
to be sensitized to remain ready to respond at a short notice,”
said a press release.
NDMA has warned landslides in the vulnerable areas of
Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu
Kashmir during upcoming rain spell.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department
Scattered rains/thundershowers expected in Islamabad, FATA,
Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D.I. Khan, Rawalpindi,
Sargodha, Gujranwala from Friday evening to Sunday.
Isolated rains/thundershowers in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat
and Sibi is expected during Thursday evening to Saturday.
Rains with dust-thundershowers also expected at a few
places of DG Khan, Multan, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Lahore
from Saturday to Sunday.
