5 intelligence officers killed in Afghan attack
KABUL, (MILLAT ONLINE)::Five national intelligence agency personnel have been killed following an armed attack in eastern Afghan province of Parwan, Xinhua quoted a local news agency, Pajhwok Afghan News, report on Thursday.
The victims were serving in neighbouring Kapisa province, but they were travelling in a vehicle to their homes in Parwan before coming under attack by gunmen in Bagram district of the province, according to the report.
One of the victims named Gulab Din was a senior provincial intelligence official in Kapisa, the report said.
The attackers fled the scene after the shooting and Taliban insurgents have claimed responsibility for the incident.
Bagram Airfield, a main US and NATO forces’ military base in Afghanistan, is also located in Bagram district.
