Four trucks with relief goods dispatched to rain affected areas: PDMA

PESHAWAR, (APP): Provincial Disaster Management Authority
(PDMA) here Monday dispatched four trucks loaded with relief goods to the rain affected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the affectees as death toll of rain related incidents mounted to 47 in KP.
The Spokesman of PDMA told APP that the trucks loaded with relief goods
including blankets, tents, floor mates etc were dispatched to the rain hit Shangla, Swat, Dir Upper, Buner and Kohistan districts for victim’s assistance.
“The trucks have reached to the respective districts and the goods were
placed under the disposal of its district administration for speedy distribution among the affectees,” the spokesman added.
He said special teams of PDMA and district administration have
reached the rain hit areas and were busy in relief operations.The Spokesman said at least 46 people were killed and 41 injured in rain related incidents in KP besides damaging 141 houses.
Giving district wise breakup of the casualties, the PDMA spokesman said
14 people lost their lives in Shangla, eight in Swat, 12 in Kohistan, two each in Bannu, Mardan and Batagram, one each in Malakand, Dir Upper, Manshera and Charsadda respectively.
About the injured, at least 13 people sustained wounds in Shangla, three
each in Swat, Buner and Charsadda, two Kohistan, four Manshera, four Bajaur, one in Malakand and five in Chitral.
The official said that about 141 houses were damaged including 84 in Dir
Upper, 26 in Shangla and 15 in Batagram.
The spokesman said the deputy commissioners of the affected districts
were directed to use the relief amount placed at their disposal for purchase of food items for help and assistance of the victims.
