Tokyo shares open lower on stronger yen, lower oil

TOKYO, April 5, (APP/AFP) – Tokyo shares opened lower
on Tuesday as a stronger yen dented exporters and falling oil prices hung over the market.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.49
percent, or 79.04 points, to 16,044.03 in opening deals, while the broader
Topix index of all first-section shares fell 0.58 percent, or 7.5 points, to
1,295.21.
