Shanghai stocks rally for fourth session

HONG KONG, (APP/AFP) – Shanghai shares climbed
for a fourth straight session Tuesday as investors returned from a long weekend break, with last week’s better-than-forecast Chinese factory figures and upbeat US data providing support.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.45 percent, or 43.54 points, to close at 3,053.07. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, jumped 2.61 percent, or 49.59 points, to 1,951.11.
However, Hong Kong ended down 1.57 percent, or 321.92 points, at 20,177.00.
