Teachers,Ulema should play role in creating awareness about terrorism

ISLAMABAD, (APP)-Government was committed to eradicate terrorism from the country and as a result of successful Zarb-e Azb law and order situation has improved.
This was stated by defence analysts while talking in Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs’ program,
Senator Lt Gen (Retd) Abdul Qayyum Khan said,”Pakistan is fighting a crucial,expensive and successful war against terrorism to wipe out this menace from the country.
Pakistan could play a role of facilitator in peace talks between Afghan
government and the Taliban, he said and added Afghanistan should support the
government to stop the cross-border movement of the terrorists.
Pakistan has always supported peace in the region; Operation Zarb-e-Azb was progressing successfully and the rehabilitation of IDPs was underway, he added.
Defense analyst Lt Gen (Retd) Amjad Shoaib said,”Peace situation in the
country has improved and security forces have achieved remarkable successes in ongoing war against terrorism.
He said many terrorists have been killed and remaining terrorists have been
fleeing to Afghanistan for their lives.
Government and the security forces, he said, were on the same page regarding the elimination of terrorism from the country at all costs and have vowed to continue the operation till the elimination of last terrorist.
Defense analyst Maj Gen (Retd) Farooq said,As a result of successful
operation, majority of the area of NWA has been cleared from the militants and certain measures have been ensured to prevent the regrouping of the militants in these areas.
The rehabilitation of IDPs of NWA was underway;government and Pak Army were utilizing all available resources in this regard, he maintained.
IR expert Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema said, the nation was united and supporting the government and security forces in war against terrorism.
Everyone should also have to play role and inform the concerned departments
regarding any suspicious activity in the surroundings;Teachers and Ulema need to play their role to give awareness to the people about the menace of terrorism,he suggested.
Senior analyst Prof. Ghulam Mustafa said,the world has been appreciating
Pakistan’s efforts and successes in ongoing war against terrorism.
The army chief, he said, has directed military to start a massive crackdown in different cities of Punjab to flush out militants of banned organizations and break their financial network which was a positive development.
