Governor launches school enrollment campaign in FATA

PESHAWAR, (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Eng. Iqbal Zafar
Jhagra on Friday formally launched the Education Campaign to enroll 100 percent children in schools in FATA.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said education was the key
to socio-economic development of the country adding education was given top most priority and the government has already announced education emergency in tribal areas.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony to the position holder
students of external examination in 5th and 8th class in FATA here at Governor’s House, the Governor said to make Pakistan developed and sovereign we have to educate every child throughout the country and urged upon the tribesmen to play their role in ensuring 100% primary enrollment in FATA schools. He said no efforts would be spared to get 100% children enrolled in FATA schools.
Education, he said was pre-requisite for the real development of
Pakistan and all out efforts were being taken to provide access to education at the doorstep to all the school going children in FATA.
Congratulating the students the Governor said education was the right of
every child and it was the responsibility of the state to provide education.
We have announced 1,765 vacancies of science teachers and will ensure
the transparency and merit in this process.
He said in the enrollment drive, children aged between 4 and 9 years
will be enrolled. He said special steps were being taken to enroll children in schools from 8th April till 31st May.
To ensure the attendance of the teachers and other educational staff we
have established advanced monitoring system. The education emergency has been declared in FATA where more than 4,00,000 children from the age of 4 to 9 years will be enrolled in the 1st phase of the enrollment drive, 1,40,000 children would be enrolled in schools in tribal region. He said during the enrollment drive there will be competition on agency levels and prizes will be awarded. On the occasion, the Governor distributed admission forms among the children.
