Visitors urged to stop littering Margalla Hills Trails

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has
installed dustbins on different places on hiking trails of Margalla Hills to keep the environment clean.
However, in spite of that people do not use them properly and they
throw empty bottles and waste materials at the open places that cause pollution.
A Capital Development Authority’s official said that the authority
launches anti-littering campaigns many times to create awareness among the general public about health hazards of littering garbage at public and recreational points.
He said that people should not create pollution by throwing soft
drinks’ bottles and cigarettes butts at public places like Margalla hiking Trails.
A trekker Hamza Ahmed said that regular visitors do not litter Trails,
but the people who come here bring meals and drinking water with them.
They litter over there without taking care of other people, although
the civic body has installed dust-bins at various locations throughout the trail, he added.
The regular visitors urged the concerned authority to take a stern
action against people who are spoiling the beautiful environment of the Margalla Hills.
