Shutdown in IOK on 2nd day against civilian killings

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Complete shutdown is being observed on the
second consecutive day,against the killing of four civilians including a woman in the unprovoked firing of Indian troops on peaceful protesters in Kupwara district.
Call for the shutdown has been given by the Chairman of All Parties
Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation
Front Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik.
Two youth, Mohammad Iqbal and Nayeem Qadir Butt, and an aged woman,
Raja Begum, were killed when the troops opened indiscriminate fire on the people who were protesting against the molestation of a girl by the troops in Handwara area of the district on Tuesday.
On more youth, Jahangir Ahmad Wani, was shot dead by the troops,
yesterday, by firing upon a demonstration at Drugmulla in the district,
Kashmir Media Service reported.
Meanwhile, the authorities continue to impose curfew and other
restrictions in Srinagar and Kupwara to prevent people from staging protests
against the killings.
All roads leading to Kupwara and Handwara have been sealed.
Meanwhile, the puppet authorities have put all Hurriyet leaders under
house arrest or behind the bars to prevent them from visiting the families of the martyrs and expressing solidarity with them.
