ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation
Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that India cannot enslave the
Kashmiris in the name of development.
Muhammad Yasin Malik was reacting to the recent speech of Indian Prime
Minster, Narendra Modi, in Jammu where he talked of development.
The JKLF Chief in a statement issued in Srinagar said, no nation can
tolerate the attack on its self-respect, freedom, and human rights in the name of peace, progress, and development.
He said that if any nation’s enslavement could have been prolonged or
fixed by the rhetoric of peace and development, majority of nations including India would have been reeling under the slavery, Kashmir Media Service reported.
He said that poverty was acceptable to the Kashmiris not slavery and
occupation. “Modi must understand that all roads leading to peace and
prosperity go through the resolution of the Kashmir dispute and if he wants
the whole of South Asia to progress, he should muster courage to resolve this dispute as per the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated.
Yasin Malik also slammed the Indian media for its claims that the recent killing of five civilians in the firing of Indian Army personnel in Kupwara was a result of unemployment.
“This is actually a ploy to divert the attention from brutal killings by Indian forces and such ugly propaganda has been running from last three
decades. Even our educated, well-settled, and efficient young ones are laying their lives for a just cause.
This propaganda by Indian media will never succeed in defeating our
spirit and passion for freedom,” he added.
Meanwhile, a JKLF delegation comprising Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Rafiq Ahmad
War, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Javed Ahmad Butt visited the families of the five
martyred civilians in Kupwara and expressed solidarity with them.
