Tokyo stocks down at break ahead of Fed meeting, Japan earnings

TOKYO, (APP/AFP): Tokyo shares fell Tuesday morning as
investors await the start of a Federal Reserve policy meeting and as Japan’s latest earnings season gets under way.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index dropped 1.26 percent, or 219.86
points, to 17,219.44 at the lunch break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was down 1.40 percent, or 19.62 points, to 1,382.21.
