Parade Ground Metro station to be operational in two months: RDA

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Parade Ground Metro bus station,
ransacked by the participants of “Dharna” during last month would be
repaired and made operational in two months.
An official of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) told
APP on Tuesday that the tender for the repair and renovation of the
station had processed by the authority.
He said that the station would remain close till the
renovation and repair work.
The commuters using Parade Ground Metro Bus Station have
demanded that the station should be repaired as soon possible as
they are facing problems due to its closure.
The residents of twin cities said this is irresponsible
behaviour of certain elements who damaged the public properties
during their processions and rallies for petty gains.
They said that the government should take strict action
against the people involved in such criminal acts who damaged the
public properties or privately owned vehicles.
The unruly participants of “Dharna” during the last March had
caused immense damages to the newly introduced bus service for the
general public commuting frequently between the twin cities at a
cost of billions of rupees.
