Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (APP): Four ships C.V Maersk Atlanta, M.T Yas,
M,.V Hope Star, and M.V Cerulean containers, Project Terminal, Engro
Vopak Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile three more ships Maersk Stepnica, C.V UASC Al-Khor and
M.T White Purl with containers and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage
of Port Qasim During last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was reported at the port at sixty percent on
Tuesday where a total of nine ships namely C.V Maersk Atlanta, C.V
Washington, M.V Johar Express, M.V Cerulean, M.V Hope star, M.V
Amalthia, M.T Sam Pride, M.T Yas and M.T Brizo were occupied PQA
berths to load/offload containers, cement, soya bean seeds, project
cargo, palm oil chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24
hours.
Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the port
where a cargo volume of 136,068 tonnes, comprising 102,877 tonnes
imports and 33,191 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo
carried in 2,832 containers (TEUs) (1,269 TEUs imports and 1,563 TEUs
exports) was handled during last 24 hours.
Two container ships, Maersk Atlanta and Washington, and edible
LPG carrier ‘Yas’, General cargo carrier ‘Cerulean’ and oil tanker
‘Brizo’ are expected to sail on same day.
Three ships C.V Maersk Stepnica, C.V UASC Al-Khor and M.T Okyroe
carrying containers and project cargo and furnace oil are expected to
take berths at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday. While C.V
Maipo and M.T Plymouth carrying containers and diesel oil are due to
arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
