Ministry reserves 500 hardship Hajj quota seats for low income employees

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Ministry of Religious Affairs
and Interfaith Harmony has allocated 500 hardship seats for low
income employees, beneficiaries of Employees Old Age Benefit
Institute (EOBI) and Workers Welfare Fund to be included to perform
Hajj.
According to official sources, these seats have been
reserved from out of a total of 2,518 (three percent) reserved for
hardship quota from government scheme in Hajj policy 2016.
He said the ministry has also increased the compensation
amount for Hujjaj in case of death, injury,etc.
According to Hajj Mohafiz Scheme, each Haji/member of
Welfare Staff would be required to contribute a non-refundable
amount of Rs 500 into the scheme.
The legal heir of the deceased Haji will be paid Rs 500,000 as
compensation in case of natural death during Hajj, and Rs 100,000 in
case of permanent loss of one limb and Rs 200,000 in case of the
loss of more than one limb during Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
A Haji will be paid Rs 300,000 in case of emergency evacuation
or repatriation from Suadia due to illness.
