ISLAMABAD, (APP): Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)
has seized 6.634 tons of narcotics worth Rs 4.089 billion
in six countrywide operations and arrested seven drug smugglers.
The force conducted operations in Islamabad, Rawalpindi,
Sialkot, Mianwali, Peshawar and Qilla Abdullah and seized
6.626 ton Hashish, 7.1 kg Heroin, 915 grams Ice and 10 Ecstasy
Tablets along with recovery of 2 rifles and one pistol. During the
operations, ANF also impounded two vehicles.
According to details here on Monday, ANF Lahore while carrying
out intelligence led operation, raided a godown in Al-Aziz Plaza,
Main Market, Sambrial, Sialkot, resulting in seizure of 1280.2 kg
Hashish along with a 44 bore rifle, one magazine and 6 live rounds.
In another operation, ANF arrested a drug supplier namely
Abdul Razzaq and recovered 4 kg Hashish from his personal
possession. He was arrested at Multan Muzaffargarh Road near
Mianwali City.
ANF Quetta in a successful intelligence led operation seized
5.342 tons of Hashish. The drug was concealed at an uninhabited site
located in mountainous area of Killi Suleman Khel, Tehsil Gulistan,
District Qilla Abdullah.
As per preliminary reports, the drug was placed at a
cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang.
ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of information raided a house
located in Akal Garh, Rawalpindi and arrested a local drug peddler
along with 1.5 kg Heroin.
On pointation of arrested accused, ANF raided a house situated
at Mohallah Islampura, Rawalpindi. The culprits present inside the
house opened indiscriminate firing at ANF raiding party. However,
ANF Raiding Team succeeded to enter the house after little
resistance, and arrested two drug suppliers along with 5.6 kg
Heroin, one SMG and one Pistol.
In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi while acting on a
tip-off, intercepted two cars including Honda City and Mitsubishi
Lancer at PWD Link Road near Bahria Town, Islamabad and arrested two
local drug suppliers along with 15 grams Ice, 10 Ecstasy Tablets and
110 grams Hashish.
ANF Peshawar Airport team arrested a passenger Naqeem Muqeet-
ur-Rehman, resident of Hangu at Peshawar Airport and recovered 900
grams Ice concealed in his trolley bag. He intended to board for
Sharjah.
All cases have been registered at ANF police stations and
further investigations are underway.
